My MRI's in December were clean. My brain looks beautiful. :-) I continue to be seizure-free. Dr. Chowdhary, my neuro-oncologist, wants to see me in 4 months. (This is 1 month longer than before, and we will gradually increase the length of time between MRI's.)
It's important (and comforting) to know you have the best doctors. Well, I knew I had really good doctors, and apparently it was not a secret.
My neurologist (specializing in seizures), Dr. Tatum, has moved to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. Great for him! Boo for me! Well, I'm not having seizures any more (my epilepsy is in remission) soooo, I don't need him anyway. (Note to self: remember that!) It was good to know he was there...goodbye crutch. I can travel to the Mayo Clinic if I ever really need to, but I won't.
My Neuro-oncologist, Sajeel Chowdhary, left Moffitt to serve as Program Director of the Neuro-oncology Program at the Florida Hospital Cancer Institute (FHCI). He is based in Orlando which is about an hour and a half from where I live, so I will continue to see him.
Happy 2010!!

Hi Emily,
My fianceƩ was diagnosed with the same type of tumour as you in a similar region and I just came across your blog. I hope you are still doing well. We are pursuing a similar treatment plan as what you had.
best regards,
John
